New Light Theater Project presents 25th anniversary revival of Donald Margulies' Pulitzer finalist and Obie winning drama.

New Light Theater Project (Strange Country, In the Soundless Awe) will present a revival of SIGHT UNSEEN, Donald Margulies' 1992 Pulitzer Prize finalist and Obie Award-winning drama. Directed by Jerry Heymann, previews begin February 8 at Access Theater in Tribeca, with opening set for February 11.
SIGHT UNSEEN is the story of Jonathan Waxman, an American painter who is so successful that his works can fetch astronomical prices sight unseen. While in England for a retrospective of his paintings, Jonathan visits his original muse, Patricia, and her husband. When Jonathan discovers an early painting of Patricia he'd done when they were young lovers, it stirs up unreconciled passions. Darting from past to present and back, the characters are forced to deal with the sadness of lost love, issues of anti-Semitism, and the role of the artist in uncertain times.
SIGHT UNSEEN stars Lee Seymour, Nancy Nagrant, Richard Brundage and Ally Carey with a production team that includes Brian Dudkiewicz (set), Ashleigh Poteat (costumes), Ali Hall (lighting), Andy Evan Cohen (sound design), and Theresa McElwee (dialect coach).
Donald Margulies is an American playwright and a professor of English and Theater Studies at Yale University. In 2000, he received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play Dinner with Friends. His other plays include Dinner with Friends, The Loman Family Picnic, Collected Stories, The Model Apartment, and What's Wrong with This Picture?
Jerry Heymann is an award-winning director. Select credits include: Call Me Charlie with Danny DeVito (La Mama), My Daddy’s Serious American Gift (Tiffany Theatre in LA), A Country For Old Men (American Stage Company), Three (Ensemble Studio Theatre), and Demeter’s Lost Daughter (St. Clement’s Theatre). He holds a PhD and MFA from Carnegie-Mellon University and is a proud member of SSDC.
