International burlesque icons Blanche DeBris & Jonny Porkpie celebrate 10th Anniversary of burlesque antics & shenanigans.

"Sheer comic genius... the best comedic retro-vaudeville act we’ve seen." —J.D. Oxblood, Burlesque Beat
What do you get when you mix two neo-vaudevillians who have been infusing classic comedy with contemporary sensibilities and 6 seductive superstars performing their most sidesplitting stripteases? A night of hilarious sexiness (and sexy hilarity) that could only be called "FLAPDOODLE! Burlesque Antics & Shenanigans"
10 years ago, two burlesque emcees took the stage together for the first time in Las Vegas, Nevada: Blanche DeBris, "American treasure, always high class," a Queens gal who moved out West, and Jonny Porkpie, the burlesque mayor of New York City, a Manhattanite by birth. These two city kids have been performing together for a decade, but never in their hometown… Until now.
The time has come. For one night only, July 19 2024 at 7:00pm at The Laurie Beechman Theatre (inside West Bank Café at 407 West 42nd Street at Ninth Avenue,) Porkpie & DeBris take New York by storm in "FLAPDOODLE! Burlesque Antics & Shenanigans," a celebration of their 10th Stage Anniversary. Tickets are $24 for general admission or $38 for VIP tickets that include reserved seating and a post-show photo op, available at www.SpinCycleNYC.com. Please note that there is also a $25 per person food/ drink minimum at all performances.
This neo-vaudevillian emcee duo infuse the neo-burlesque stage with neo-classic comedy (think Burns & Allen, French & Saunders, Abbot & Costello, Laurel & Hardy, Tina Fey & Amy Poehler) as they present some of their nakedest friends, favorite bits, skits, and songs from their years hosting together (including their celebrated burlesque spin on the legendary “Who’s On First” routine), plus plenty of new nonsense, in a sexy goofball extravaganza that's not to be missed!
Celebrating a decade of delight, discord, and disrobing "FLAPDOODLE! Burlesque Antics & Shenanigans" will also feature a cast of burlesque luminaries including Fancy Feast, Burlesque Hall of Fame “Miss Exotic World” Best Burlesque 2016 winner Poison Ivory, Tansy, Tiger Bay, Veronica Viper, Cashlee Banks, and a special appearance by Jo Weldon.
_____________
Blanche DeBris has been entertaining herself and occasionally others for more years than she can reliably count. According to Las Vegas Weekly, “Her stage presence marries Phyllis Diller with Miss Piggy, then somehow makes it funnier... a true find.” She made her burlesque debut at the Moisture Festival in Seattle in 2008, and has returned repeatedly as a performer and co-host. Since 2012, she has been an emcee of the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender, the burlesque world’s premiere annual international event. As a performer, her signature Rubber Duckie act and her Sound of Music in Six Minutes have endeared her to audiences all over the world. In 2015 she premiered her Holiday Show “The Blanche DeBris Emergency Xmas Broadcast” to rave reviews and packed houses, at the Onyx Theatre in Las Vegas. Blanche is also an instructor, having taught classes in emceeing and character/act development at BurlyCon and all over the country. In 2018 she is an invited presenter at BurlyCon, bringing her new workshop, “Kindness: A Revolutionary Act” to the convention. But most of all, Blanche strives to brighten the burlesque world with her boundless joy, enthusiasm, optimism, and bewilderment.
A burlesque performer, emcee, writer, and producer, Jonny Porkpie recently retired from a decade-long stint as a producer and emcee at The Burlesque Hall of Fame to focus on his first love: scripted theatrical burlesque shows. These shows—which include Off-Broadway productions of “Pretençión: un burlesque de cirque” and "Dead Sexy" (returning from the grave this October)—have been lauded as the “Best Burlesque” in NYC by New York Magazine and the Village Voice. His burlesque game show "The Naked Truth" toured to over 30 cities in 5 countries on 3 continents. After a celebrated run last December, his “Filthy Lucre: A Burlesque Christmas Carol” returns to the Laurie Beechman theater for the holiday season, and his (2nd!) Marx Brothers homage “A Day on the Boardwalk, A Night at the Stripshow” can be seen this May as part of Marxfest 2024. He has, ludicrously, an MFA in Creative Writing for Children. jonnyporkpie.com.
