Get ready to do The Time Warp again as RuPaul's Drag Race underdog Mrs. Kasha Davis stars as sweet transvestite Frank 'N' Furter in a concert version of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. This special musical presentation will co-star cast members from Blackfriars Theatre's critically acclaimed hit production, directed by Danny Hoskins earlier this season. The one night only performance takes place Friday, January 11, at 7 PM & 10 PM at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, located inside the West Bank Cafe at 407 West 42 Street. Mrs. Kasha Davis (Edward Popil), starred in the Blackfriars Theatre production in October, 2018, in Rochester, New York. ­Davis was a contestant on Season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race after auditioning for all previous 6 seasons. Kasha is a theatre gal who has played Elizabeth Fuller in Me and Jezebel with Blackfriars Theatre as well as The Mystery of Irma Vep.  As her alter ego “Ed” Kasha has appeared with JCC Centerstage as Eddie Ryan in Funny Girl and Roger Debris in The Producers. Kasha Davis appears with the fabulous Aggy Dune in their impersonation show THE BIG WIGS, appearing anywhere that calls for a man in a dress, fast costume changes and tons of laughs.  Past credits include Off-Off Broadway productions of The Diary of Anne Frank and True West.  Ed also proudly posed as a straight man during his younger years at Ballet Theatre of Scranton as a principal dancer. THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW premiered in London in June, 1973, in the 63 seat Theatre Upstairs at the Royal Court. With book, music, and lyrics by Richard O'Brien, it quickly transferred to a much larger theatre, and twice again to still larger theatres, becoming one of the biggest hits in London theatre, running for years and finally landing on the West End. Other productions followed in Los Angeles, Sydney, Melbourne, New York (Broadway), and San Francisco. It was revived on Broadway in 2001. The 1975 cult hit film version, The Rocky Horror Picture Show (starring Tim Curry), is still in limited release over four decades after its premiere, making it the longest film theatrical release in movie history.
