MAC Award-nominated creator of The Vaudevillians returns with evening of songs not ready for Broadway.
Tuesday, September 23 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre
Pianist/performer/man about town Major Scales, co-writer and co-creator of The Vaudevillians with Jinkx Monsoon, returns to New York with an encore of his latest creation, MAJOR SCALES' MINOR BREAKDOWN: SONGS NOT READY FOR BROADWAY. This evening of original songs and stories will be performaned Tuesday, September 23 at 9pm at The Laurie Beechman Theater.
So much time, so few songs to play! Wait; scratch that, reverse it. MAJOR SCALES' MINOR BREAKDOWN: SONGS NOT READY FOR BROADWAY is an evening of the prolific composer's original songs for his original Broadway shows that have yet to be written. The always-debonair Major Scales will be there to lead you through his ditties, divorced from plot, with a half-smile and half-full Manhattan. Be one of the first to hear these never-before-staged songs in search of a musical!
Major Scales is the evil twin of Richard Andriessen, a musician, writer and performer based in Seattle. As one half of "the millennial Kiki and Herb” (Theater Mania), Richard arranged the music for and starred in MAC nominated, often-extended musical comedy "The Vaudevillians", with RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon. That show was listed as one of the best New York shows of 2013 (The Advocate). He has written everything from award-winning New York shows on the east coast to music for amateur porn on the west.
MAJOR SCALES' MINOR BREAKDOWN: SONGS NOT READY FOR BROADWAY will be at The Laurie Beechman Theater (inside West Bank Cafe at 407 West 42nd Street -- at Ninth Avenue, accessible from the A,C,E,N,R,V,F,1,2,3 trains at 42nd Street). Tickets are $20 (plus a $15 food/drink minimum.) To purchase tickets, call 212-352-3101 or visit www.SpinCycleNYC.com.
